Reading Comprehension test at Level 5 measures student’s ability to understand and interpret written text and emphasizes the importance of being able to use a “wide range of strategies to comprehend, interpret, evaluate, and appreciate text.
The development of a foundational understanding of language conventions and mechanics. The students should be able to apply knowledge of language structure and language conventions (e.g., spelling and punctuation) to create, critique, and discuss print and non-print texts.
